Saturday football
So the Premier League is up and running once again for another nine months of battle

SWANSEA vs MAN UTD (1230 ko)
The master visits his apprentice, but will not be inclined to dish out any favours in the early kick-off at the Liberty. Robbie Savage reckons Man Utd will win the championship and this is exactly the sort of game they must take all points from. It’s hard to think they won’t. Away win.

BOURNEMOUTH vs WATFORD
Few neutrals will have their eyes on this one, but there may be a logic to suggest this is an early six-pointer. Which will make a win all the more valuable for either side. Can’t see it, though. Draw.

BURNLEY vs WEST BROM
Burnley’s tails will still be firmly pointed towards the heavens after last week’s unexpected win at Stamford Bridge. Their challenge today will be to maintain that form against a dour West Brom team that scores almost half its goals from set-pieces. Home win.

LEICESTER vs BRIGHTON
Brighton’s foremost target this season is to retain their membership of the Premier League. That means taking points from the likes of Leicester, but Craig Shakespeare has worked magic since taking over last season. Home win.

LIVERPOOL vs CRYSTAL PALACE
It wasn’t really the start that Frank de Boer wanted from his new charges last weekend. But now should be as good a time as any to travel to Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s side not significantly strengthened in this transfer window and perhaps distracted by the Coutinho saga. The Reds should still be too strong for their visitors, however. Home win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs WEST HAM UNITED
The pre-season optimism, fuelled by some widely-appreciated acquisitions, got its inevitable reality check at Old Trafford last Sunday. Fortune’s where it always is. But six days have been enough to nurture a new growth of hope as we travel to Southampton in search of the season’s first points. The Saints weren’t impressive in their opening day goalless feast against Swansea and we must hope that continues today. Looking forward to an entertaining game. Head says draw, heart says away win. Heart wins. Of course it does.

STOKE vs ARSENAL (1730 ko)
Stoke have become to Arsenal what Everton have been to us: a team resembling the inside of Arsene Wenger’s nostrils. Stoke away is one of those games that struggles to inspire, and Arsenal will have to maintain focus for all 90+ minutes if they are to build on the opening day’s result. Away win.

Was that Ayew's brother who missed connecting with the cross, unmarked at point-blank range? should have been 1-0 to swansea

Re: Saturday football
Southampton had more than enough chances to beat Swansea and must admit their 545 mins without a home goal scares rather than encourages me.
We need to be much tighter and keep them scoreless early and get the crowd on their back.
Defend properly and there are 3 points here.
Can we do that?

I actually think Bournemouth v Watford will be an entertaining game. Bournemouth always play a pretty open style and Watford will see this as a potential away win,
